Three Hispanic women detained by ICE after being arrested for prostitution in Nassau

Three women, of Hispanic origin, were detained by ICE (United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement) after the Nassau County police accused them of prostitution, in operations carried out on September 25 in Freeport and Albertson, the NCPD police department reported.

Yorgelis Riveros-Sanchez, 29, resident of Pennsylvania; Zuleica Hernández, 34, also a resident of Pennsylvania; and Mayori Ariza Ascanio, 33, a Maryland resident, are in the custody of the ICE agency, authorities said.

In Freeport, police reported that an undercover investigation determined that prostitution was taking place at the address 30 S Ocean Suite. At this location, Yorgelis Riveros-Sánchez and Yennyfer Curieux-Mérida, 35, a resident of East Elmhurst, Queens, were arrested without incident following the investigation, according to a statement.

And in Albertson, police reported that an investigation at “Best Spa,” located at 965 Willis Ave., determined that illegal massages and prostitution were taking place. In this business, Zuleica Hernández, Mayori Ascanio and an Asian woman identified as Guofeng Li Larsen, 56, a resident of Queens County, were arrested without incident.

NCPD indicated that Li Larsen and Curieux-Merida were charged with unauthorized exercise of a profession and prostitution. In turn, Riveros-Sánchez, Hernández and Ascanio were accused of prostitution.

The five women were released with a summons to appear on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead, NY.

Police indicated that subsequent investigations showed that defendants Yorgelis Riveros-Sánchez, Zuleica Hernández and Mayori Ascanio were illegally in the United States and are subject to deportation proceedings. NCPD authorities reported that the three Hispanic immigrants are currently in ICE custody.
