March is a month to celebrate the strength, courage and authenticity of women, and Fanny Lu does it with music. The woman I am, her most recent single, is not just a song, but a hymn of self -love and empowerment, a reminder that each woman is valuable, unique and deserves to hug with pride.
This launch arrives at a special moment for the Colombian singer -songwriter, who commemorates 20 years of musical experience. Two decades in which he has left an indelible mark with his unmistakable style and successes as I do not ask for flowers and you are not for me, songs that consolidated it as one of the most representative voices of the Tropipop. Today, with a career marked by evolution and authenticity, Fanny Lu is fully full than ever and shares with his audience a powerful message: self -love is a daily exercise.

“I love the woman I am” it is not only a verse of her new song, but a mantra that invites all women to look with love, to accept their lights and shadows, and to celebrate their story with pride. For Fanny Lu, this single is the reflection of her own trip, an album of honest messages where, as she says, she feels representative of women in all her stages.
In addition, the woman who is marks the reunion with the renowned producer José Gaviria, with whom she worked at the beginning of her career and created unforgettable successes. “The woman I am” is a hymn of self -love and empowerment. What message do you expect women to take from this song?
To love yourself is a daily exercise. There is nothing more beautiful than oneself to give that breath necessary so that every day they are a beautiful challenge of living. This song is an invitation to love us a lot. To lift, consent and protect the girl inside. I am very excited that the woman feeds on this message.

This launch comes at a special moment for you, celebrating two decades in music. Looking back, what do you think has been the greatest learning of your career?
That being unique, being you, is the biggest requirement for others to give you their unconditional love. Through the years, what I have learned is that people value you when you are honest, with your qualities and defects.
“The woman I am” is just an advance of your next album. What can we expect from the full album?
It is a very honest album, full of messages. Letters of me for women, to feel representative of all women in their different stages of life. Learning of a lifetime of what has made me grow and be the woman I am today.

Is there any song in the album that you feel especially personal or that represents a key moment of your life?
All are special and talk about issues that are relevant to me. They all talk to me in the ear because they are the result of that need to find myself in the study.
Your career began with great successes like “I don’t ask you flowers” and “You are not for me.” How do you see the Fanny Lu of those years compared to today?
More beautiful, because it is beautiful to be able to see with love. Now I wonder why I did not see me like that before, without criticizing, with this love I am seeing today. Evolution has been pretty and there is always a growth that is necessary in life.

Is there any song from your discography that would sing differently for everything you have lived?
I have done many songs that touch my heart, but there is a song that I made to my father ‘One more minute’, because my father dies when I am 19 years old, and I could not sing it, because I gave me an immense heart of not having told him what he had to say, and asking God for another minute in dreams. I think today I could smile and sing it and feel that this minute is being granted with my father.
Your image and style have also evolved over the years. How do you think fashion and music have influenced your artistic identity?
I have been very spontaneous with the way of dressing. With each album I have proposed a different look because every album for me is associated with a moment of life and a particular message. For me an album represents the way to introduce my audience at the moment I am going through.

If you could relive a key moment of your career, what would be and why?
There have been many beautiful moments, but when I realized that ‘you are not for me’ I was number one in Mexico. I was promoting southern Texas, very close to the border with Mexico and a Mexican station announced it as number one in the countdown of the most important forties. It was a very magical moment because I was having fun and imagining that dream, and suddenly I see it sublime. It was like a dream. I became the most Mexican Colombian.
If you could give advice to the Fanny Lu of 20 years ago, what would you say?
That is launched into the water without fear. I wrote a book ‘The voice of your dreams’ and the approach of the book is to tell the most honest of my being that permanent struggle against fear. Life has these moments of doubt that they are really fear, so I would tell that Fanny Lu of 20 years ago, do not scare, because fear is darkness. When you feel fear always look for light.
Finally, what does it mean for you to be the woman you are today?
It means fullness. It means having listened and enjoyed life. It means having finally understood that life has clear and dark. Without dark, they would not be so tasty. We would not know that it is the joy of that clear, of that light. That is the woman that I am today, the one that is accepted with weaknesses and strengths, and who made this album with all the intention of continuing in the heart of the people from honesty
