Queens Public Library is accepting donations of graduation dresses before March 28

Do you have a graduation dress, a tuxedo or accessories that you no longer wear? It is the perfect time to give a second life and help more young people enjoy an unforgettable night. The Queens Public Library (QPL) has launched its second annual campaign for the collection of formal clothing for graduation, and is accepting donations until March 28.

The objective of this initiative is to ensure that all community adolescents have the opportunity to attend their graduation dance with a special outfit, without economic concerns. Thanks to the generosity of donors, many young people can live this experience with confidence and style.

QPL invites the community to donate gala dresses, slotters, shoes, bags and jewels in good condition in any of the 14 participating branches during the regular service schedule:

• Bayside (214-20 Northern Boulevard)
• Broadway (40-20 Broadway)
• Cambria Heights (218-13 Linden Boulevard)
• Central Library (89-11 Merrick Boulevard)
• Elmhursst (86-07 Broadway)
• Far Rockaway (1637 Central Avenue)
• Forest Hills (108-19 71 Avenue)
• Fresh Meadows (193-20 Harding Expressway)
• Glen Oaks (256-04 Union Turnpike)
• Howard Beach (92-06 156 Avenue)
• Hunters Point (47-40 Center Boulevard)
• Jackson Heights (35-51 81 Street)
• Peninsula (92-25 Rockaway Beach Boulevard)
• Ridgewood (20-12 Madison Street)

The donated garments will be distributed in the Prom X QPL raffle, which will take place on Saturday, April 12 at the Cambria Heights Center. In addition, young people can schedule additional appointments to select their outfit from April 14 to 18.

QPL reminds donors that clothing must be in good condition and suggests washing or sending it to the dry cleaner before delivering it. With this solidarity gesture, the community can help more teenagers celebrate their graduation with style and without worries.

For more information on how to participate, visit the QPL website or to be stamped one of the participating branches.
