According to the 2022-2024 community health evaluation surveys of the counties of Nassau and Suffolkthe inhabitants of Long Island are concerned about the problem of cancer, both for them and for their community. However, there are no collaboration initiatives at the island between interested parties to address these concerns in a cohesive way.
The Alliance against Long Island cancer will provide the opportunity to bring together opinion leaders and interested parties to identify the main barriers that affect local inhabitants and develop a strategy and implementation plans to generate a measurable impact.
In this way the spring meeting is given for the first meeting of the Long Island Cancer Alliance, in order to publicize its focus on the strategic resolution of problems to reduce the barriers in the continuum of cancer and begin to collaborate in the search for solutions and increase its membership.
In the event scheduled for Thursday, March 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Long Island health systems participate, federally qualified health centers, coalitions, community organizations, places of worship and other pillars of the local community. The address is Chase Bank located in 4210 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa, NY.
