Two Colombian entrepreneurs celebrate two years of Char-CUTE-rie success with a free event in New York

While the Colombian community commemorates Colombian Independence Month, entrepreneurs Luisa Ramírez and Sara Rojas will celebrate the second anniversary of Char-CUTE-rie Central Park with a free event that will highlight female entrepreneurship, gastronomy and the contribution of small Latin businesses to the cultural and economic life of New York.

The celebration will take place on July 24 and 25 at the gourmet cafe located just steps from Central Park. Friday will be dedicated to the press and special guests, while on Saturday, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the public can enjoy free tastings, live violin music, magic shows, specialty coffee, drinks and other activities for the whole family.

The anniversary also marks the growth of a business founded by two women of Colombian origin who decided to create a different gastronomic experience in Manhattan. Since opening in 2024, Char-CUTE-rie Central Park has grown from a small cafe specializing in charcuterie boards and artisanal sandwiches to offering catering services for businesses, cultural institutions, non-profit organizations and private events throughout New York City.

Its proposal combines fresh ingredients, high-quality cheeses and sausages, artisan breads and specialty coffee with elegant picnic tables, designed to enjoy in Central Park or during social and corporate gatherings.

«Our goal has always been to turn everyday food into a special experience. “We want every bite to be a unique and unforgettable experience,” said Luisa Ramírez, chef and co-founder of the establishment. Ramirez came to New York when he was 10 years old and built a career in the hospitality industry before starting his own business.

Sara Rojas, born in New York to Colombian parents, explained that the project was born with the intention of creating a space where gastronomy and hospitality served as a meeting point for the community.

«We wanted to create much more than a cafe. We wanted a place where people could gather, celebrate and connect through food. “It is very special to celebrate our anniversary while honoring our Colombian roots,” he said.

In addition to its culinary proposal, the establishment exhibits works by Latin American artists and promotes sustainable practices, elements that are part of its identity and its commitment to the community.

The founders invite the community to participate in the event on Saturday, a free activity that seeks to celebrate entrepreneurship, cultural diversity and the contribution of the Colombian community to the New York gastronomic scene.
