Go for it! A young Hispanic man won the board game foosball tournament organized by McDonald’s in Hicksville, Long Island. It was a day full of emotions carried out in the midst of the passion generated by the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Daniel Rojas obtained 1st. place in the “McDonald’s New York Metro Foosball Youth Series” and thus qualified for the grand final of the event that will award the champion a $5,000 educational scholarship.
This final is held on July 17 in Midtown Manhattan where the best youth soccer players from the entire New York metropolitan area compete for the opportunity to win the scholarship and other prizes.
It should be noted that the young people from Long Island, Sean Gorey and Parneet Singh, accompanied Daniel Rojas on the podium as the best classified in the tournament held on June 27 at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 280 N. Broadway, in Hicksville.
The “McDonald’s NY Metro Youth Soccer Series” is a community initiative that combines a passion for soccer, youth and educational opportunities.
Foosball (or foosball) is played on a rectangular table with small figures of players mounted on rotating bars, which are manipulated to simulate a soccer match. You have to show agility, speed and talent to score goals and achieve victories.
In alliance with the non-profit organization Foosball Clubs USA, the “McDonald’s New York Metro Foosball Youth Series” included 8 qualifying tournaments played at different McDonald’s restaurants located in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, New Jersey and Long Island.
This competition aimed at young people of secondary school age, ages 12 to 18, took place from June 20. The big “Championship Final” is scheduled for this Friday, July 17 (2:00 PM) at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 966 3rd Ave, New York, NY.
Organizers report that all foosball tables used during this program will be donated to local youth organizations once the series ends.

“For the owners and operators of McDonald’s New York Metro, supporting the communities we serve has always been at the center of what we do,” said Brian Hairston, president of the McDonald’s New York Metro Owners/Operators Association.
“Through this Fútbolito Youth Series we are creating spaces where young people can connect, feel inspired and access opportunities that support their growth, thus continuing our long-term commitment to generating a positive impact at the local level.”
For his part, Michael Stahl, executive director of Foosball Clubs USA, a nonprofit organization founded in New York, added, “At its core, foosball is about strategy, teamwork and competitive spirit — values that help young people grow both on and off the table.”
“Partnering with McDonald’s New York Metro brings together two organizations that believe in the power of play to create opportunity. “Together, we are expanding access to a game that builds confidence, sharpens thinking and brings communities together through shared competition.”
