The Suffolk County Executive, Ed Romaine, invites residents to participate in the series of walks by the Nature of Spring 2025. Residents can attend one or more of the walks “exploring the health and conservation” of Suffolk to explore the connection between health and our natural environment.
This series of walks is part of the “Active, Healthy York” Action Plan of Suffolk County to promote physical activity, increase access to public green spaces and encourage residents to improve their general health.
Health professionals will talk about the importance of regular physical activity and environmental specialists will discuss the importance of preserving our environment and their relationship with everyone’s health in the community.
“We encourage all our residents and visitors to take care of their health, increasing their physical activity and exploring our beautiful open spaces here in Suffolk County,” said the Romaine Executive.
“Walking in nature is a pleasure in itself, but the additional advantage is that participants will have the opportunity to ask health questions, observe birds and learn about the connection between our environment and our health,” said Dr. Gregson Pigott, Suffolk Health Commissioner.
The walks will be made from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the following schedules and places. The walks, entrance and parking will be free. Participants are recommended to mention the walk at the entrance:
