Mónica R. Martínez, senator of the state of New York will carry out her third community barbecue to celebrate the end of summer, this Saturday, August 30, from 1 pm to 3 pm, in the Hermann Griem Park, located at 54 Brown Blvd., at Wheatley Heights, NY 11798. It is not necessary to register to be part of this activity.
In addition to offering delicious fast food, good music and cotton of sugar, the event will also have the distribution of backpacks and essential school supplies (while exhausting stocks); as well as free barbercarers. All this to ensure that children in the fourth senatorial district in Long Island are prepared for the next school year.
“This annual barbecue to celebrate the end of summer, is a time for families to share in a positive family environment among neighbors. By providing school supplies to our students, we assure us that they are prepared to succeed in the return to school,” said Senator Martínez, who also added feeling excited to perform this event for the third consecutive year with the support of community partners.
It should be noted that this is the second event that Senator Martínez organizes this August to help students prepare for the return to classes. On August 16, a Distribution of backpacks and school supplies in Brentwoodwhere approximately more than 1,200 students benefited.
