Islip Town Board Honors New York State Softball Champions

The Islip Town Board pays tribute to the New York State softball champions.

After their consecration as “NYS Champions”, the members of this Board on Long Island recognized the success of the ball monarchs on the island.

The Islip Little League Senior Softball division has shown extraordinary passion, dedication and, above all, team spirit this season.

The title game concluded with an impressive 12-3 score over Warwick, which earned them the 2026 New York State Little League Championship.

The final was held in the summer, on Sunday, July 20. Islip’s resounding victory propelled the team led by coach Liz Raemdonck to the NYS Senior Softball Eastern Regionals tournament in Worcester, Massachusetts.

“We are so happy to see so many young people full of energy and enthusiasm participating in team sports and staying active! This is the type of activity we want to celebrate,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

«Thank you to the dedicated coaches for everything they do for these girls, and to all the players present: excellent work on a fantastic season! We hope to see you here again next year,” Carpenter emphasized.
