Brentwood’s award-winning Green Machine Marching Band recently held its annual home showcase, hosting bands from across Long Island for a day that celebrated the artistry, athletic prowess and tradition of country band performances.
The “Green Machine,” which took first place in its division at the New York State Field Band Conference last year, presented its 2026 production, “OVER_RIDE,” at Brentwood High School’s Sonderling Gymnasium, along with performances from 11 visiting programs.
Although the event held on September 20 was moved indoors due to rain, the change of location did not deter the students, who wowed the stands full of proud family and friends.
“The intensity of the Green Machine’s performance and the passion of our Color Guard were absolutely spectacular,” said Superintendent Wanda Ortiz-Rivera of this activity.
“You could see how much heart they put into every moment and how proud they were to represent Brentwood. Even with a last-minute venue change due to weather, they stayed focused and gave it their all.”
