Haiti’s soccer coach, Frenchman Sébastien Migné, announced the list of 26 players called up for the World Cup 2026among whom stand out Wolverhampton midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor and goalscorer Duckes Nazon.
The soccer players, who come in greater numbers from a wide variety of first and even fifth division leagues in Europe and America, will attend Haiti’s second participation in a World Cup. The first time occurred in the 1974 edition played in Germany.
The winger Bellegarde accumulated 25 games this season with English club Wolverhampton, scoring a goal and giving an assist. And striker Isidor scored five goals in 30 games for Sunderland.
The French Auxerre striker Josué Casimir also stands out on the squad list, who scored one goal in 30 games played this season.
Coach Migné confirmed the presence of the 9 of the Haitian team, Duckens Nazon, 32 years old, who had to leave Iran in an almost cinematic way, where he played for Esteghlal, shortly after the armed conflict with the United States and Israel began in February.
The Haitian team was paired in the Group “C” of the 2026 World Cup. It will debut on Saturday, June 13 against Scotland, six days later (Friday, June 19) it will clash with Brazil and on Wednesday, June 24, it will close its participation in the first phase against Morocco.
It should be noted that the preparation of the Caribbean team of Haiti will be completed with two preparation matches, to be played on Tuesday, June 2 against New Zealand (7:30 pm ET) at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and on Friday the 5th against Peru (7:30 pm ET) at NU Stadium in Miami, FL.
