Live it LI: Video game exhibition at LIM
Until May 24 / Various Times

Don’t miss the “Video Games: The Great Connector” exhibit at the Long Island Museum (LIM) and discover how video games are much more than just a form of entertainment, and learn about the important role that digital games play in the lives of today’s youth.

The exhibition demonstrates that, for today’s young people, video games have become a tool to develop personal and professional skills, such as teamwork, solving complex problems and building social networks.

Throughout the event—which features 10 fun interactive gaming stations—visitors will be able to play games, meet historical and contemporary figures in video game design and engineering, and discover the invisible design underlying their gaming experience.

A special emphasis is placed on celebrating the contributions made by people of color, in hopes of inspiring African American and Latinx students to consider a career path within the video game industry.

This exhibition is created by Science and Arts Engagement New York, Inc. (doing business as Harlem Gallery of Science) and partially supported by the New York State Council on the Arts.

“Video Games: The Great Connector” hours are Thursday from 11:30 am to 7 pm, Friday to Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Admission is $15 for adults (there is a discount for seniors, military personnel and students)
