Uniondale High School senior outside hitter Zahara Saintyl was named among the “Long Island High School 100 Greatest Girls Volleyball Players,” according to Newsday.
A three-year starter on her school team and two years as captain, Zahara has achieved notable success both on the court and in the classroom.
“Zahara was elected team captain her junior year and is the only two-year captain in the history of our program,” said Daniel Splendore, coach of the Uniondale High School girls volleyball team. “She is a great leader and celebrates her teammates’ achievements as much as her own.”
It should be noted that Zahara is currently among the top 10 volleyball players in finishing in Nassau County, and Newsday describes her as “a versatile athlete who can play all over the court.”
Academically, she has a 4.0 GPA and has excelled in various Advanced Placement (AP) courses. After graduating, Zahara plans to study biology in college.
