The White House reported that the president’s administration, Donald Trump, has arrested more than 300,000 undocumented immigrants in the first six months since his return to power in the United States.
“Despite numerous false reports in the media, almost 70 % of these arrests have been criminals with foreign nationality that have previous positions or convictions,” insisted the spokeswoman for the Republican Government, Karoline Leavitt, in a press conference.
For Trump’s press secretary these figures- which have not been verified independently- represent “a full-fledged success” because “they eliminate the most dangerous threats for the public security of US communities and return these people to their countries of origin.”
However, defenders of immigrants and human rights activists denounce abuses and violations of due process in hundreds of arrests and deportation processes to undocumented, which the Trump administration retains in detention centers such as the controversial ‘Aligator Alcatraz’ or Alcatraz Caimán, in the Everglades of Florida.
This information occurs while the operations of the ICE agency continue throughout the country, looking for immigrants to stop them, especially terrorizing communities of Hispanic origin.
In the New York and Long Island area, the activities of alleged agents of the United States Immigration and Customs Control (ICE) who hooded and carrying weapons stop Latinos in their workplaces, on highways and streets, and even breaking into their homes, often without showing an arrest warrant of the judge or without identifying appropriately causing fear and panic in local families.
Illegal crosses
Since his return last January, the Republican President has redoubled his anti -immigration policy, reinforced the mandate of agencies such as the customs immigration and control service (ICE) and promoted the increase in arrests to fulfill his promise to carry out a historic mass deportation campaign of undocumented.
Leavitt stressed that according to updated figures from the Office of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) published on Tuesday, illegal crosses have fallen to historical minimums in July, when about 24,628 border meetings were recorded nationwide.
“This is the lower monthly number of border patrol arrests throughout the country, exceeding the previous record established in June,” said the White House spokeswoman.
In the southwest limit with Mexico, 4,601 arrests were made in the seventh month of 2025, which according to CBP means 24 % less than the previous historical minimum of June (6,070), and 92 % less than a year ago (56,400).
The new Border Patrol report reveals that last month there were no releases under probation or ‘parole’, compared to the 12,365 releases recorded at the US borders.-Mexico in July 2024.
«The excuses are over. The releases are over. We have put the defensive cartels and recovered our border, ”said the Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, in a statement.
