The president of the United States, Donald Trump, acknowledged that immigrant workers who are expelling from the country, as part of their hard immigration policy, are difficult to replace, especially in some sectors such as agriculture.
“They cannot be easily replaced,” said the president in statements to the CNBC chain. «People who live in cities do not do that job. We have tried. They do not. These people (migrants) do it naturally, ”he added.
The Republican referred to these terms after they asked him about the impact they were having on the US economy the deportations he was carrying out, as reflected in the latest employment report.
As he said, his administration is “taking criminals,” however, he said “working with farmers so that they are not affected by these expulsions”, because “they are a very important part of this country and we are not going to do anything that harms farmers.”
“We are working on that, and we are going to get rules and regulations,” he said about immigrant workers in the sector.
Along these lines, asked again about these alleged plans, Trump was open to some “legally return”, after being deported.
«I want to work with them. In some cases, we are sending them back to their countries with a permission, so that they return legally. And we are doing things that are very difficult to do and very complex, but that work very well. We send them back, and then study, learn and return. They return legally, ”he explained.
This is not the first time that the president assumes that his immigration policy can affect the country’s farmers, as well as other sectors such as hotel and leisure. Last June, changes has already advanced to alleviate the effects on these works.
It should be noted that the Julio Employment Report, which has been highly criticized by Trump for showing a net employment creation of only 73,000 positions, is affected by a fall in 1.7 million jobs from foreigners between March and last month.
