Student achievements ceremony in Islip Town recognizes local fellows

At the April meeting of the Municipal Board of the Town of Islip, the Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Board celebrated 11 future leaders who have demonstrated academic excellence and made positive contributions to their community.

These high school students are models to follow in their respective schools and communities:

-Gianna-Luce Lagardelle, by Bay Shore High School, Actively participate in several leadership programs, including Hello Ambassador, welcome to the new Ell students, the Northwell Health Youth Leadership Committee and the PATHS program. He works as a regularly voluntary to support both students and families in their school community.

-Dillon Boeckel, by Bayport-Blue Point High School, He is a comprehensive student who stands out both in his studies and in numerous extracurricular activities, including the university football team, the annual musical in his school, the Bayport-Blue Point high school, and the community service with the Chris Coluccio Foundation. His participation covers athletics, arts and contribution to their community.

– Isaiah Hayes, first -year student at Brentwood High School, He dedicates much of his time to community service. He dedicates countless hours as a volunteer in the Brentwood Public Library and actively participates in several clubs, such as the Travelers Club, the National Youth Honor Society and the Diamond Art Club. In addition, he participates in the Friendship Club, where he helped create tankless blankets for pediatric patients with cancer at the Good Samaritan hospital.

– Gabriela Moreta, from Sonderling High Schoolis a dedicated student leader who participates in extra aid programs, several clubs and societies of honor, and in the Islip Town Ambassadors program, where he focused on inclusion and diversity, completing the four sessions and becoming a peace ambassador of the Brentwood School District.

– Saira Quadri, last year student at Sonderling High School, It demonstrates its commitment to school and community through its participation in the ROTC, its volunteer in events such as the distribution of thanksgiving foods, the tutoring of their classmates in various honor societies and the teaching of the foundations of fencing to young children.

– Josiah García, from Central Islip High School, It participates in the “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative of the Central Islip School District, where it serves as a community scholarship and link. In addition to being one of the best AP students, classified among the 5 best in the 2025 generation at the Islip Central High School, it provides feedback to students about district programs and participates in school and community events.

– Jenna Zachmann, by Connetquot High School, (who could not attend), dedicates his time to being a mentor of students and young soccer players. She is treasurer of the SADD Club, helps lead mental health initiatives and is voluntary at Connetquot high school events, such as the 5K mental health career and PS I love you initiatives. Jenna is also an active member of the drug and alcohol working group, where she visits primary schools to educate younger students on important issues such as bullying and addiction prevention.

– Michael Donlin, from East Islip High School, He works as a volunteer in the Islip Exchange ambulance, the church of Santa María, the Comfort Zone Camp, Kids Need More and Sunrise Camp. As a penultimate student at East Islip High School, he has dedicated years to support children who face diseases or losses and continue to contribute through various organizations, donating their time and effort to help others.

– Isabella Dragos, last year student at Islip High School, She is a volunteer singer in the church of San Patricio and mentor of first -year students at the Buccaneer University. He participates in several societies of honor and has served both the school and its community, completing more than 200 hours of service throughout his high school career.

– Grace Garafola, a dedicated student from Sayville High School, It is deeply involved in both your school and your community. It participates in a wide range of clubs and societies of honor, including the Girl Scouts, the National Society of Honor, Rho Kappa, the National Society of Art Honor, the Student Government, the World Language Honor Society, the Anchor Club, colleagues leaders and the stage team. In addition to the school, it contributes to its community as a volunteer in the Sayville Food and Popular Dining room.

– Alexandra Martorella, West Islip High School student, He has demonstrated his dedication and compassion through his voluntary work with Beacon House, constantly supporting the well -being of local veterans. It is a key figure in its school community, known for its kindness, humility and unwavering commitment to others.
