In honor of the “month of Hispanic heritage” the Southampton Playhouse, by Long Island, presents a selection of films for all ages that celebrate cinema and culture in Spanish.
This exciting series exhibits classic and contemporary tapes in Spanish with subtitles. The programming includes the iconic “Dracula” of 1931, the family classics such as “Coco” and the “Gabby Doll House”, and the film “La Ola” within the framework of a new and dynamic collaboration with the Latin Film Festival of Hamptons of Ola of Eastern Long Island

The Playhouse presents the opening night of the Latin Film Festival of Hamptons of Ola of Eastern Long Island in collaboration with the tropical cinema of the Hamptons with a dazzling and emotional musical of one of the most acclaimed filmmakers in Chile.
From Sebastián Lelio, winning director of the Oscar for “a fantastic woman”, this moving “the wave” comes with the story of Julia, a young music student who denounces harassment in her university campus.
While inciting a wave of protests and faces his own personal demons, the aspirations and fears of Julia join in a series of transcendent musical numbers. The result is an exciting reinvention of the musical genre and a fascinating exploration of modern Latin American youth culture.

In collaboration with Tropical Cinema, the Southampton Playhouse is pleased to present the 1931 version of the movie «Dracula».
Shortly after starting working for Count Dracula, the office worker Renfield discovers that his employer is, in fact, a vampire who feeds on human blood.
Under the Dracula spell, Renfield helps his master to travel to London, where the vampire charges another victim. Dracula also has his eyes on Bella Eva, but his fiance, Juan Harker, and a wise teacher named Van Helsing try to stop him.
