Red carpet full of talents at Festival ‘Bilmed in Peru’ in Long Island and NYC

Actors, producers and film directors will parade through the red carpet of the 3rd edition of the Peruvian Film exhibition called “Philmed in Peru” that takes place from April 10 to 18 in Miami, in Long Island and in New York City.

They already confirmed their presence Ricardo de Montreuil, director of the film “Mistura” (with Barbara Mori and Christian Meier), actor Gonzalo Molina (“queens”), the actress and supermodel Juana Burga, among others.

“The presence of Peruvian filmmakers and actors has always been an important part of our exhibition,” says director Robert Pazos. “And this year we will bring a record number of guests to our projections in Miami, Long Island and New York.”

There are several “Red Carpet” events report the organizers of this Peruvian film festival that arrives for the first time to our area:

– Long Island – Huntington Cinema Arts Center – Sunday, April 13, 7 pm

– NYC – NYU KING JUAN CARLOS CENTR, Monday, April 14, 6 PM

– NYC – NYU KING JUAN CARLOS CENTR, Tuesday, April 15, 6:45 pm

– Manhattan – Village East Cinema, Thursday, April 17, 7:30 pm

In addition to the 10 films that include fiction feature films and documentaries, in “Philmed in Peru” 9 short films and a panel of filmmakers with Stephanie Boyd (Karuara), Leonardo Barbuy (Diogenes) and other filmmakers will be shown.

“It is an opportunity to show the best of our cinematography to the world,” says Carlos Bañuelos, actor/director of the short film “That’s what friends are.”

This is the varied cinematographic program:

– Drama fans do not miss “Family Album”, where a son discovers his family’s dark past, and “queens”, a Peruvian and Switzerland production that was the Swiss candidate for the 2025 Óscar awards.

– Gastronomy lovers enjoy “Mistura”, the lovely story of a woman who falls in love with Peruvian gastronomic culture.

– In dramatic comedy laugh out loud with “Dead of laugh”, a film about the difficulties of a comedian who ages.

– In documentaries, feel identified with “The prodigal daughter”, a moving history about the challenges of a woman as an immigrant in the United States.

– In “True Crime” are witnesses of the moving tape “La Gringa and the musician”, which exposes police corruption in Peru.

– In Biopics see “The inheritance of Flora”, a narrative drama based on the life of the feminist Tristán, and “tattoos in memory”, based on real events during Peru’s struggle against the terrorism of the Shining Path.

This year’s programming of the “Philmed in Peru” festival includes 4 feature films and 1 short run by women.
