The Nassau County Girl Scouts (GSNC) announce that registrations are already open for their second annual career «Thin Mint Sprint 5k Run» and family walk «Family Fun Walk», which returns to Jones Beach State Park on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Open to the public, this event will celebrate the community, exercise and fun again, all in support of the GSNC mission to ensure that all girls have access to the Girl Scouts leadership experience.
“We are delighted to bring back the sweetest event of Girl Scouts, our Thin Mint Sprint, for the second year,” said Rande Bynum, executive director of the Nassau Girl Scouts.
“This event is more than a simple career/walk; it is also a celebration of leadership, union and spirit of generosity. You are already a scout girl or simply a running enthusiast, we invite you to join us and help support the next generation of driving change.”
The proceeds of this event will support the mission of Nird Scouts of Nassau County to provide girls access to transformative experiences that inspire them to achieve great things. Last year’s opening event attracted more than 550 participants from all over Long Island.
The 5 km race participants and the 1 -mile family walk will enjoy panoramic views of the Jones Beach State Park during the weekend “Girl Scouts Love State Parks”, special activities at the Energy and Nature Center of Jones Beach and, of course, they will receive a box of cookies “Thin Mint” in the finish line.
