“We are proud to support local schools, labor organizations and non -profit entities that make a difference in the lives of New Yorkers every day, while we continue to invest in Queens, the future home of Etihad Park,” said Edelman.

For its part, Moya praised NYCFC’s commitment to the city in the last decade, highlighting that the club has built courts, offered programs in schools and provided leadership training to young people since its foundation in 2013.

The councilor highlighted the increasingly narrow relationship between NYCFC and Queens since the club announced the construction of its stadium of 25,000 seats in Willets Point, which will be the first specific football stadium within the five counties in New York. The project, approved by the Municipal Council last April, will open in the 2027 season of the MLS and include a complex of 2,500 affordable housing units, a primary school with 650 seats, a 250 -room hotel, commercial spaces and 40,000 square feet of public areas.

Moya stressed the “historical” community benefits agreement reached in the Willets Point project, ensuring that it will have a positive impact on thousands of Queens residents.

«This unprecedented agreement will benefit thousands of Queens residents by investing in organizations that provide essential services and transform lives. I am proud to have collaborated with the New York City Football Club in this effort, ”said Moya.

Frankie Miranda, president and executive director of Hispanic Federation, stressed that the investment will allow the organization to expand its scope and help more people in the community.

“NYCFC investment will help us expand our impact, support more families and continue to make the difference where it is most needed,” said Miranda.

Daisy Morales, director of PS 92 in Corona, thanked NYCFC for its commitment to the community and pointed out that students are excited to see the team represent their neighborhood.

“This support from New York City FC will allow us to continue offering valuable programs, and we are really grateful for their commitment to our school,” said Morales.

This investment adds to the previous commitment of the NYCFC to allocate $ 10 million in 2024 to improve the ICAHN Stadium in Randall’s Island and York College in Jamaica. The club also highlighted its City In the Community initiative (CITC), with which it has built more than 50 community courts, benefited 50,000 young people in the city and established a solid presence in the five counties.
