The steam bath with medicinal herbs, practiced for centuries by diverse Mesoamerican indigenous cultures such as Mexican and Maya to improve physical and mental health; Eliminates toxins, improves blood circulation, relieves muscle and joint pains, clears the respiratory tract, reduces stress and reinforces the immune system.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 80% of the world’s population uses medicinal plants. On its website, the agency offers catalogs with detailed information on the uses and benefits of these plants.
Lizeth Cuara, general director of Misty Phases, rescued the Mexican tradition of the medicinal herbal vapor bath used since pre -Hispanic times, to return them to women as an alternative, natural and practical resource, to help them recover physical and emotional well -being during the postpartum period.
“It is time to restore the true importance of care and attention that mothers require during postpartum, a period in which mothers can suffer from fatigue, belly pain, back and abdomen, in addition to depression,” says Cuara.
According to the product designer focused on transforming postpartum care, the medicinal herbal bath, an ancestral Mexican tradition also practiced by diverse cultures of Latin America, China, India, Africa and Europe, not only helps eliminate toxins and restore body heat, but also deflate the pelvic area, it favors the contraction of the uterus and alleviates the pains known as “Eta -war.”
“We understand how complicated the ingredients of this healing recipe transmitted from generation to generation by our mothers and grandmothers can be, so in Misty Phanges we have carefully selected and packaged these medicinal herbs to deliver them directly to the mothers, in the comfort of their home,” explains Lizeth Cuara.
Traditional recipe
The traditional recipe used by several women around the world, combines the following herbs for their healing properties:
– Lavender: It has healing and antiseptic properties that promote cell regeneration. Its relaxing effects reduce stress, anxiety and improve sleep quality.
– Raspberry sheet: Strengthens uterus, pelvic muscles and bones. Their astringent properties calman the spasms and help heal the incisions derived from childbirth or caesarean section.
– Aloe Vera: It has anti -inflammatory effects, hydrates the skin and facilitates wound healing.
– Chamomile: Its soothing effects relieve body stress, improve sleep and balance postpartum emotions.
– RUDA: It relieves body pain and wounds.

How to make the bathroom
To perform the herbal bath, only a steam bath gown must be used that covers the whole body and sit in a chair.
Then a tub is placed with the herbs previously boiled on the ground, just below our body, so that the vapors are trapped inside the gown, creating an environment similar to a homemade sauna that favors the process of healing and relaxation.
