Legislators Mulé and Nuñez support the “Day without Child Care” demonstration in Freeport

Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé and Legislator Cynthia Nuñez joined Janna Rodriguez and her supporters at the Innovative Day Care Corp on Monday, May 11 for the “Day Without Child Care: From Playroom to Podium” public rally advocating for justice in child care.

«Throughout my career as a social worker, I have witnessed the transformative importance of child care resources. As legislators and public servants, we have a duty to guarantee that families can access reliable services without cost representing an obstacle,” declared legislator Mulé.

“I am always proud to stand in solidarity with Janna to raise awareness about this vital issue and embrace the message that, at its core, child care is community care,” added the Democratic elected official from Freeport.

For her part, Legislator Nuñez indicated, “As costs continue to skyrocket in Nassau County and across our nation, we must do everything we can to alleviate the financial burdens faced by local families.”

“Ensuring every family has access to safe, reliable child care will not only help us achieve that goal, but will also give children the support they need to thrive and succeed. “I applaud Janna for her unwavering commitment to the cause of child care justice on Long Island,” the Democratic elected official from Valley Stream stressed.

“I thank Janna Rodriguez, founder and owner of The Innovative Daycare Corp. in Freeport, for inviting me once again to support the ‘Day without Child Care’ rally. “This nationwide initiative includes three events within New York State, with Freeport hosting the Long Island regional event,” said Legislator Mulé.

«It is vital to continue supporting safe, educational and high-quality childcare, so that parents can provide for their families with complete peace of mind. A key part of this is working to ensure that child care providers can earn a living wage,” he noted.
