Koslow and Mulé legislators gave backgrounds and school supplies to hundreds of children in Freeport

Hundreds of local students began the 2025-26 school year receiving backpacks, school supplies and new sports shoes, in addition to impeccable haircuts, during the 20va. Annual return to “Trimz Cutz for Edu” classes, held in Freeport, Long Island.

Nassau County legislator, Seth I. Koslow, and the substitute deputy director of the minority, Debra Mulé, joined the owner of Trimz Barber Shop, Levar Brouchton, to organize this emblematic event, presented on Saturday, August 23 in collaboration with Heeling Soles, Inc. and Steve Muir; Glory House Recovery, Inc. and Terenna Williams; and the built -in village of Freeport.

In addition to the free school supplies that children received, the event «Back-to-School Giveaway-Cutz for Edu» had a video game truck, DJ Sour music and a community barbecue sponsored by Boar’s Head and Domino’s Pizza de Freeport.

Also, Arizona Beverages provided 10 boxes of Arizona ice tea, the Gala Foods supermarkets provided freeport refrigeies and lexus contributed funds to Heeling Soles, which were used to buy more sports shoes to give to the students.

It should be noted that Freeport’s police and fire departments were also present to interact with community members and provide support during the event.

The longevity and success of Cutz for Edu are based on a long collaboration between Levar Boughton and the former leader of the Nassau County Legislature, Kevan Abrahams. After Abrahams’s retirement in the late 2023, legislator Koslow joined forces with Brouchton to continue this popular tradition of return to classes.
