The National Society of Honor of the Freeport High School celebrated its last -year students on the annual recognition night “Senior Collection Night”, on May 29. The ceremony began with the advisor Brianne Underwood, who welcomed the guests and highlighted the success of the students.
“We recognize last year students of the National Society honor not only for their academic excellence, but also for the effort they have made in the areas of service, leadership and character. These young people reflect the best that the Freeport High School has to offer,” he said.
“This year, our last year students completed more than 1000 hours of community service, maintaining excellent qualifications and actively participating in extracurricular activities. We present them with pride and congratulate them for their achievements at the beginning of the next stage of their lives.”
Underwood presented to the directors of Generation 2025: President David de la Llera, the secretary Nadja Salomé Diaz, the Treasurer Maliah Farmer, the student coordinator Maria Awalom and the Director of Community Service Angelina Monroy.
Each manager explained one of the four pillars of the NHS: scholarship, character, leadership and service. Earning managers for the 2025-2026 school year participated in the traditional candle ignition ceremony.

Dr. Alice Kane, an interim Superintendent of Schools, directed the new managers in the oath to defend these pillars. “This is a huge responsibility and they are very worthy of our congratulations,” Kane said. “That they perform their position with joy and great pride.”
The officials of the National Honor Society for the 2025-2026 school year are: President Lordia Bossman, Vice President Emmanuel Merino, Secretary Julissa Rodríguez, Treasurer Julia Mendoza-Pineyro, student coordinator Alyssa Donnelly and the Director of Community Service Dayanis Puca.

Mrs. Underwood called on the stage of last year of generation 2025, while the director of the Freeport High School, Gisselle Campbell-Ham, and the incoming president of the NHS, Loria Bossman, gave each student their cord of honor for the graduation on June 14.
At the end of the ceremony, scholarships of the Freeport Dollars for Scholars program were delivered to the students. The president of the organization, Mrs. Shultis, exprofesora of the Freeport High School, and the Treasurer, Mrs. Linda Hendrickson, called the students to congratulate them for their effort and wished them the best in their future projects.
