The Dream Foundation announces its 2025 fund collection gala, “Lights of the city”, a memorable evening that celebrates the perseverance of immigrant and first -generation students that exceed important obstacles to access higher education.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 4, at 6:30 pm, H at The Mansion at Oyster Bay, in Plainview, NY. The meeting will also honor community leaders who support their career and inspire change.
Since 2012, the “Dream Foundation” has awarded more than $ 300,000 in scholarships to immigrant students of high -yield and first generation of immigrant families.
This gala will be attended by Dr. Maria Conzatti, administrative director of Nassau Community College, as the outstanding main speaker of the night.
In recognition of exemplary service and commitment to the community, the Dream Foundation will also honor 6 outstanding leaders:
• Eric Cienfuegos – “Emerging Star” Award, General Manager, Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse
• Dr. Silvia Díaz – “Pioneer in the Public Service”, Deputy Executive of Suffolk County
• Grace Ioannidis – Award “Community Defender”, Executive Director, Multicultural Affairs Office, Suffolk County
• David M. Sperling, Esq. – “Legados Builder» Prize, founder of the legal firm of David M. Sperling and the Dream Foundation
• Luis Vázquez – “Trajectory” Award, President, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Long Island
• Christopher William, Esq. – Prize “Visionary Leadership”, Development Director, Suffolk Community College foundation; Principal Professor, Liu.
“This gala is not just a celebration, it is a call to action,” said Gloria Robles Applebaum, president of the Dream Foundation Board of Directors. “Our students are future educators, health professionals, engineers and public servants.
