For 45 years, and every year, the Círculo de la Hispanidad has held a tribute to the outstanding Hispanic students of the Long Beach School District, from Kindergarten to the last year of high school (Kindergarten to Grade 12), in merit of their academic excellence, effort and achievements in sports, music and the Spanish language.
On this occasion, more than 200 students received such distinction in an emotional awards ceremony recently organized by the Círculo de la Hispanidad, a community entity based in Long Island, NY.
In addition, the Circle gave special recognition to all graduating high school or college students highlighting their efforts and triumphs in the classroom.
The night was also very special because scholarships were awarded to Hispanic students who graduated from Long Beach, Hempstead and Evergreen Charter Schools, to support their continued education and future success.
“This year we have allocated $45,000 to 40 Hispanic graduates who will attend university this next school year,” commented from the Círculo de la Hispanidad. “In this history we have distributed more than $600,000 in scholarships,” they noted.
It is worth mentioning that the Círculo de la Hispanidad celebrates its 46th anniversary this year foundation fully fulfilling its mission of empowering young people and strengthening our community.
Led by Mr. Gil Bernardino, this local organization provides services to more than 5,000 people in Nassau County (Long Island) through more than 20 community programs.
