The Bronx prepares for one of its most emblematic celebrations: the Puerto Rican day parade, which this year meets its 39th edition. The event will take place on Saturday, June 14 from 11 in the morning on Grand Concourse, between 165 and Mount Eden streets, and will be free for the public.
Under the slogan “United we are stronger”, the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade promises a vibrant day full of community music, culture and spirit. It pays tribute to the Puerto Rican heritage that has left a deep mark on the county.
This year, the organization of the parade recognizes prominent figures of the community. Among the honorees are the great Marshal Dj Carlito, announcer of the Mega known for its connection with the Latin audience; The godmother Aisha Hernández, president of the Bronx Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and the godfather Dr. Anderson Torres, President and Executive Director of Rain Total Care, Inc., a non -profit organization that offers home care services.
The parade will also feature the participation of the Miguel & Jon Q musical duo, who have been appointed artists of the year. Its presentation is expected to provide a special touch to the event, which will include floats, car clubs, cultural groups, live music and other expressions of Puerto Rican folklore.
For almost four decades, the Bronx Puerto Rican parade has served as a platform to highlight the achievements and resilience of the Puerto Rican community in New York. Beyond color and music, the event is also a reminder of the power of unity and the importance of celebrating cultural identity.
