Kick off the holiday season at Belmont Lake State Park with a drive that circles a picturesque 42-acre lake, through wooded trails and enchanting scenery.
Whether you are looking to beat your personal best or simply enjoy the good atmosphere, the “Suffolk Turkey Trot 5K” race, taking place on Sunday, November 8, starting at 10 am, combines festive tradition, family fun and a privileged natural environment.
And at the end of the competition, walk away with gifts, prizes and delicious products from All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.
Organizers say there will be a free Kiddie Dash before the main event, starting at 9:30 a.m.
This race will take place regardless of weather conditions. Registration for the event costs $44.15 (Includes management fee).
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports sporting and charitable events, promoting awareness and community involvement.
The NSRF also supports and develops elite athletes at local, national and international levels.
