Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacked President Donald Trump’s immigration policy and the operations of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE), which, she assured, are a product of the “surveillance state” that was established in the United States after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Ocasio-Cortez, who participated on Sunday in a forum at a university in upstate New York, attended by about a thousand people, said that ICE uses artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology to track people regardless of their legal status, the EFE agency reports.
ICE operations, to comply with Trump’s agenda of arrests and detentions, have resulted in the deaths of several people in the country and the deportation of thousands: «ICE is AI. ICE is facial recognition. ICE is surveillance. And ICE is going after you, regardless of your status,” said the socialist democrat before a group of students, reports Fox News.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known by her initials AOC, is a politician born in New York of Puerto Rican descent, a representative of democratic socialism in the country.
As a member of the United States House of Representatives, he represents NY’s 14th congressional district, which covers parts of Bronx and Queens counties.

New York Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez faces the possibility of launching her candidacy for the presidency in the 2028 elections or aspiring to a seat in the Senate, where she could face veteran Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer in primaries, whose term expires that year and who has not yet announced whether he will seek re-election.
