The Hispanic Alliance for Prevention (HAP) Coalition participates in a forum with national experts

The Hispanic Alliance for Prevention (HAP) Coalition team had the opportunity to participate in the CADCA Forum in Maryland, alongside prevention leaders from across the country.

The event held this February provided a valuable space to share strategies, learn from national experts, and highlight the prevention needs of our Long Island community.

“During our visit, we also met with elected officials, including Andrew Garbarino, Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen, to discuss current challenges in prevention and the importance of continuing to invest in community solutions,” HAP stated, emphasizing that “These conversations strengthen our advocacy efforts and ensure that our community’s voice is heard nationally.”

As part of HAP’s ongoing efforts to grow, improve, and better support its shared goals, it is reported that they are asking the community to participate by completing the Coalition Capacity Checklist Survey.

“This survey is an important tool that helps us assess our strengths and identify opportunities to strengthen our capacity, partnerships and effectiveness.”

Notably, the Hispanic Alliance for Prevention (HAP) Coalition is a collaborative effort of YES Community Counseling Center, in partnership with the Hispanic Counseling Center (HCC), with support from the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Support (NYS OASAS).
