Trump creates registration for undocumented immigrants and asks to self -support

The Donald Trump government will require the millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States to register in a federal registry and provide their fingerprints, also asking them to leave the country voluntarily (they self -support).

Otherwise, immigrants who do not register in the registry can face a criminal process with fines and even prison sentences, an escalation regarding their current immigration status, considered a civil crime.

The measure is actually seeking millions of undocumented people living in the US to leave the country on their own, given that registration in the registry would provide data to the government for deportation, but breach it could mean jail sentences.

“President Trump and the Secretary (of National Security, Kristi) Noem have a clear message for those in our country illegally: you are now married,” said the spokeswoman for that department, Tricia McLaughlin.

“If they leave now, they could have the opportunity to return and enjoy our freedom and live the American dream,” he added in a statement published by The New York Times.

Likewise, the parents of undocumented foreigners over 14 years of age must also register these minors in the aforementioned registry.

However, immigrants are unlikely to register in this Trump administration registry, given that the president has promised mass deportations of the more than 11 million undocumented people living in the country.

This registration has as a legal basis a disused law approved during World War II so that undocumented immigrants arrived in the country were registered.

Penalize “illegal” foreigners

It should be reported that Secretary Kristi Noem announced that the Department of National Security (Department of Homeland Security – DHS) will fully apply the immigration and nationality law, which created multiple tools to trace illegal foreigners and force them to voluntarily abandon them.

These tools include criminal sanctions for certain foreigners that:

– They do not voluntarily abandon the United States.

– Do not register with the federal government and do not take digital footprints.

– Do not inform the federal government about changes in their direction.

«The fact that a foreigner does not abandon the US is a crime that could result in a significant economic fine. The fact that a foreigner does not register is a crime that could result in a fine, prison or both. For decades, this law has been ignored, but no longer, ”says DHS.

“Compulsory mass self -exporting is a safer path for foreigners and forces of order, and saves money from US taxpayers, in addition to preserving valuable customs and border protection resources (CBP) and immigration and customs control (ICE) necessary to keep Americans safe.”

As published by DHS foreigners can register on the portal of Uscis.gov.

This announcement occurs shortly after a national and international advertising campaign that warns illegal foreigners to self -support and stay out of the United States.
