Summer at its best. In a great sports initiative, boys and girls from 6 to 13 years old in our community can receive free soccer classes at Field #3 in Flushing Park, located in Queens County.
The participating kids learn while having fun with the ball. This camp takes place on Tuesdays, from 9 to 11 am, and is led by experienced coach Guillermo Andrade, who has more than 20 years training players in the New York and New Jersey area.
“These free classes allow children to stay active during the summer, learning the technical fundamentals of soccer and the values of the sport,” Peruvian coach Andrade tells us.
“We do it with great pleasure and enthusiasm, we have a good field at our disposal, provided by the park, which benefits kids who like soccer or are interested in playing it,” he emphasizes.
Instructor Andrade guides the little ones with patience and giving easy-to-understand concepts, so the players receive good advice to better control the ball, make low passes to their teammates, make collective defense and attack plays, all within an environment of motivation and healthy recreation.
These modern training circuits guarantee that kids of all levels can learn about soccer and also share pleasant moments practicing their favorite sport in a camp that will take place during the summer season.

“I am grateful for these soccer practices here in Queens, my daughter enjoys them a lot, and I especially enjoy them because it is free of charge, now as the situation is it is good for us to save money,” says the girl’s mother Mackencie Alvarez, 9 years old, a participant who comes from Brooklyn County.
“I like to train, I play as a full-back, and these classes help me improve in soccer,” said 11-year-old Alan Ojeda, who lives in the county of Queens, very close to the park, and has the great Lionel Messi as his idol.

“We invite parents interested in their sons and daughters learning the sport of soccer, this camp is completely free,” remarks Professor Guillermo Andrade, founder of the renowned “Peruvian American Soccer” school that since 2005 has successfully participated in local championships, having trained dozens of players, some reaching the professional level and others obtaining sports scholarships to study at the university.
