Governor Kathy Hochul issued a “Vaccination Guide against COVID-19” for New York in association with the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.
The new New York state guide recommends the vaccination of children (from 6 months to 18 years) and all adults. This guide is aligned with the regional recommendations of the Northeast Public Health Collaboration Coalition and is based on the Executive Order that guarantees that people can receive the updated COVID vaccine for 2025-26.
In this way, with science and medical care under attack by the Federal Government, Governor Hochul recently announced the publication of the State Vaccination Guide against COVID-19, guaranteeing that residents continue to have access to vaccines and information based on scientific.
The guide recommends vaccination against COVID-19, for children (from 6 months to 18 years), all adults and people with greater risk, including pregnant women, infants or immunosuppressed.
The guidelines are published before the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Federal Immunization Practices, where national recommendations on vaccines are reviewed and voted.
“Vaccines are still one of the strongest tools we have to protect our families and communities,” said Governor Hochul.
«While Washington continues to launch its erroneous attacks against science, New York makes it clear that all residents will have access to the COVID-19 vaccine, without exceptions. By supporting our collaborators in the Northeast, we guarantee that New Yorkers have the protection and information they need to stay healthy and saved, ”he said.
Trump attack on immunization
The state guidelines are also aligned with the recommendations agreed on the COVID-19 agreed by the Collaborative Public Health Group of Northeast, a group of several states and municipalities of the Northeast, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island and the city of New York.
These recommendations are consistent with the Vaccination Guidelines against the Autumn COVID-19 of 2025 of the American Academy of Pediatrics (American Academy of Pediatrics), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (American College of Obstertics and Gynecology) and the US Academy of Family Physics (American Academy of Family of Family of Family Physicans).
This announcement occurs at a time when Governor Hochul has taken several measures to ensure that vaccines remain accessible to New York, even when restrictions continue to hinder access at the federal level.
Earlier this month, Hochul signed an executive order that allows Pharmaceuticals prescribe and manage vaccines Against COVID-19, thus guaranteeing continuous access for all New Yorkers who wish to vaccinate.
The order will be extended as necessary while developing a long -term legislative solution to address access to all vaccines and combat the wrong attack of the Trump administration to immunization and medical care.
By order of the governor, the state of New York also recently issued a guide for insurers, encouraging them to continue covering all vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
This guide also reminds the insurers of previously issued guidelines that require that they cover vaccines against COVID-19 for children, and urge them to encourage employers and other entities that offer self-financed medical coverage to continue covering the cost of vaccines.
«Vaccines save lives, and this guide guarantees that all New Yorkers, from the little ones to the most risky people, have safe and reliable access to the COVID-19 vaccine. We hold our commitment to protect the health of all New York, ”said Dr. James McDonald, health commissioner of the New York State.
