The scenic arts center of the Freeport High School was filled with pride when the National Secondary School of Honor (National Honor Society) presented 115 new members to the organization in its annual incorporation ceremony recently made.
The advisor Brianne Underwood welcomed the guests to the ceremony, followed by the presentation of the colors by the NJROTC (students of the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) of the Freeport High School.
«It is an honor for me to be here. It is my first incorporation to Freeport and when I see how many of our students have chosen excellence, I see that they have chosen to be the best of our high school, so I want to celebrate them, ”said the Superintendent of Schools, Fia Davis, when heading to the new members and reminding him of his extraordinary academic efforts.
«Life are elections, you can choose if you will be excellent or a failure, you can choose if you will be the best and smartest in the room. The result is yours to decide. I want to thank you for choosing academic excellence. Congratulations on its incorporation, ”he emphasized.

The officials of the National Honor Society, President David de la Llera, Vice President Elsy Soriano, Secretary Nadja Salome-Díaz, Treasurer Maliah Farmer, student coordinator Leah Awalom and the Director of Community Service Angelina Monroy, spoke about the four pillars of the National Society of Honor (character, erudition, leadership and service) defend these pillars as new members.
Shortly after the traditional candle ignition ceremony of the National Society, and the director of the Freeport High School, Gisselle Campbell-Ham, and the president of Llera, gave the new members a medal to represent their new membership in the National Society of Honor.
