Devils at the top

The “Red Devils” of Toluca, the current Liga MX champion, regain the No. 1 ranking after the Quarterfinals of the Concachampions where they advanced to the Semifinals.

Los Angeles FC and Nashville SC (both from Major League Soccer – MLS in the United States) rose to second and third place, respectively, after also ensuring their presence among the four teams still in the fight for the title.

Tigres UANL climbed two positions and is now fourth after securing a place in the Semifinals for the second consecutive edition.

On the other hand, the current champion Cruz Azul (1,248) dropped four positions to fifth place after being eliminated from the competition.

In turn, Seattle Sounders FC (1,242) fell three places and is in sixth place, followed by Inter Miami (1,240), which remained in seventh. Both teams represent the American MLS.

And Club América (1,227) from Mexico appears in eighth place after dropping three positions.

Canadian Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,222) rose two places and returned to the Top 10 in ninth place, and Mexican CD Guadalajara (1,218) completes the Top 10 in Concacaf after dropping one position.

It should be noted that Nashville SC, from the MLS, rose five positions to enter the Top 3 of the Concacaf Club Ranking, after starring in the biggest surprise of the Quarterfinals by eliminating the seven-time champion América.

After a goalless draw in the first leg, dangerous German striker Hany Mukhtar scored the series-clinching goal for Nashville in a resounding 1-0 victory at the Estadio Banorte (Azteca) in Mexico City.

The Concacaf Champions Cup is the most prestigious club competition in the region, with the participation of the best Liga MX teams along with their historic rivals from the MLS, as well as prominent clubs from Central America and the Caribbean.

In addition to the regional title, this annual tournament also represents the only qualification path for Concacaf clubs to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which is played every 4 years, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which is played annually.

The contest has multiplatform coverage by FOX Latin America, which extended its television broadcast rights for 4 more years.
