The 274 Charter schools in New York City are independent of the city’s education department, but they can be closed if they do not meet certain standards of student rendering.

Specialized programs in the NYC Charter schools

Charter schools managed to keep students responsible and continue with high levels of learning despite the pandemic. 85% of Charter schools continued to show new contained during the pandemic and was three times more likely to take care in remote classes, compared to traditional schools.
Charter schools also expanded their non-academic programs, such as socio-election and family scope during pandemic. 75% of Charter’s teachers increased their hours of attention and 91% increased communication time with families.
