TD Bank opens new branch at the Bronx with community celebration and focus on financial education

TD Bank took the green carpet to celebrate the opening of its new location with a party full of food, entertainment and activities for the whole family.

Employees enthusiastically applauded every time a new client crossed the door, welcoming him with the same mood reserved for celebrities. But instead of red lights and ropes, this carpet was of a Vibrant green TD.

José Sarmiento, vice president and manager of the new branch, provides its local roots and commitment to financial education.

“When I grew up, Financial Education was missing,” Sarmiento said. “I did not have any. To prepare for this opening, we collaborated with local organizations and offered financial literacy courses.”

Sarmiento, who has been in TD for seven years, wants to show that this bank is different.

“We are first people,” he said. “Much of my team is from Bronx. We are a community -based branch. We know customers because we have been in their place.”

The event seemed more like a neighborhood party than a bank inauguration. Neighbors turned the TD Bank’s fortune to win awards, while a circus artist slipped on skateboard juggling and showing children to turn dishes.

The greatest attraction was inside the bank. As part of its opening promotion, TD Bank offers cash bonuses to those who open a new account before June 18. In addition, there is a limited offer with an annual performance of 4.40% in a six -month deposit certificate (CD), available until April 18.

Alan Wesen, president of the TD Bank retail market, explained that this is the eleventh branch of the bank in the Bronx.

“They say that Bronx is booming, right?” He said. “We want to be in a community that is growing, and we believe that Bronx is.”

Nossen stressed that TD Bank adapts to the needs of customers at all stages of their life.

“New Yorkers need bankers with physical and digital presence,” he said. “We have products for when they just start, if you want to buy a house or open a business.”

The new branch is located in the 3433 of Jerome Ave. and attends from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 9:30 am to 2 pm, and Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm

On Saturday, TD Bank also cut the tape of a new branch in Brooklyn, located at 722 by Brighton Beach Ave.
