Sophia Angelica launches the video of “under the full moon”, a bilingual song to love and emotional freedom

With a voice that caresses in two languages and a style that mixes pop with tropical rhythms and empowerment messages, Sophia Angelica continues to mark her path in the independent music scene. The singer -songwriter presents the expected music video of “Under the Full Moon”, an issue that invites you to live the present, releasing the fear to embrace emotions with freedom.

Filmed next to friends of his creative community, the video captures the light and spontaneous essence of the song: one night on the beach, the energy of the full moon and that moment in which everything is aligned to simply feel. “We forget that we were filming, we simply let ourselves be carried out by the magic of the moment,” says Sophia.

With Latin roots and artistic formation in New York, Sophia has built an authentic and bilingual proposal that has led her to appear on stages inside and outside the country, in addition to recently participating in the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC), where she shared her vi-system as one of the emerging voices of Latin pop.

“Under the full moon” was produced by Jay Simon (Marc Anthony, Luis Fonsi, Guaynaa) and adds to his artistic evolution, which includes topics such as “part of me”, “era” and “Ice & Fuego”. With this new video, Sophia reaffirms her commitment to music that is not only heard, but feels deeply.

“Under the full moon” is an issue that speaks of emotional freedom and self -love. Was there a specific personal moment that inspired you to write this song?

Not particular personal. It was rather the inspiration of nature. I was on a beach, it was night and there was a full moon. I love the sea and I believe a lot to connect with nature, especially through music. I was inspired by the idea that human beings are also part of nature. You have to live the present, live the moment, because at the end of the day it is about sharing love and positivism through what we do, and for me, the medium is music.

What does the full moon represent for you within the symbolic universe of the song?

Precisely, the music video is about the interesting and crazy things that can happen during a full moon night. I took this idea that the full moon can symbolize a change towards emotional freedom.

This tropical-pop fusion has a very warm and enveloping vibes. How did you get to that sound and what did you want to convey with him?

As an artist, my goal is to write music that has a little of both cultures. I grew up in the United States, but in a very Latin community, and I am very Latin. With this particular song, I felt very Latin, but at the same time it has a sound that anyone can understand. It is an American style fusion with a Latin touch at the same time.

Do you feel that singing in two languages allows you to connect with different emotions or audiences?

Yes. It is interesting that you mention emotions, because I feel that we have different personnel in each of the two languages. Being able to combine them in a song is something very interesting, to explore those two sides and the combination of both. See the differences and also the simili-tudes. The idea is not just for Latinos, is to celebrate being multicultural and multifaceted as human beings.

You have released songs like “Part of me”, “Time” and “Ice & Fuego”. How do you feel that your sound has evolved from those first issues until today?

Very much, especially my story before those issues, which have been this year and are part of this bilingual evolution. Before those songs, I launched an album that was a mixture of genres, len-guajes and styles; It was like an exploration to see in which direction I wanted to go, because I have all the music and I love exploring. Before I also sang a lot of live, but it was very multifaceted. With this evolution I finally came to this mixture between Americanized pop sounds and tropical and Latin sounds.

And finally … When was the last time you let yourself be carried out “under the full moon”?

It was just during the filming of the music video, because it was with a group of friends from my community of YouTube. We were filming the video and, in the end, we forgot that we were filing when enjoying the full moon. It was a very nice moment and I am excited to share this video with all of you.
