Shakespeare for all: the public theater travels the NYC parks with a bilingual comedy

The public Theater celebrates the 15th anniversary of its Mobile Unit with a free, family and bilingual version of a lot of noise and few nuts, the dear romantic comedy of William Shakespeare.

The work, directed by Rebecca Martínez with original music by Julian Mesri, is presented in English and Spanish and travels parks, libraries and community spaces in the five counties of New York City until June 29.

This 100 -minute adaptation combines Shakespeare’s classic ingenuity with an accessible and contemporary staging, designed for all audiences. It is part of Shakespeare for the City, a summer celebration of free outdoor theater.

The tour continues this week with functions at:

June 21: Queens Night Market (Queens)

June 22: Roy Wilkins Park (Queens)

June 25: Maria Hernandez Park (Brooklyn)
