Happy tenth anniversary dear New York City FC !!!
With the remarkable Italian former player Andrea Pirlo as a luxury ambassador and Empire State Building as a witness, the NYCFC celebrated an emotional act to commemorate his 10 years in Major League Soccer (MLS), where he looks a title of national football achieved in 2021.
It should be noted that the New York City played on March 8, 2015 the first game in its history with a 1-1 draw in the Orlando City field.
And just 10 years later, this Saturday, March 8 (7:30 pm ET), the Grand Manzana team will receive precisely Orlando City in its first game at home of the 2025 season of the MLS, at the Yankee Stadium of the Bronx.

The MLS Cup champion in 2021, the New York City FC celebrated an act for his tenth birthday at the Empire State Building of Manhattan, which at night illuminated the New York sky with light blue as a tribute to the team of the “Grand Manzana”.
The Italian Andrea Pirlo, one of the most important and emblematic players who has dressed the NYCFC shirt, was the protagonist of the symbolic act of ignition of Empire State with two members of the current staff: American goalkeeper Matt Freese and the Argentine midfielder Maxi Morález.
«The New York horizon is iconic and known worldwide. And when you think of the New York horizon, the first thing you think is Empire State, ”said Brad Sims, CEO of the NYCFC.
“Now that we celebrate together the tenth anniversary of the New York City, there is no other place where we preferred to be than in the Empire State to illuminate the city that we call our home,” added the leader who hopes to inaugurate in 2027 the Etihad Park, his new and ambitious stadium that has been built in Queens County.
Continuing with the current 2025 season of the MLS; The next New York City FC match is against Orlando City SC this Saturday, March 8. The beginning at Yankee Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 pm, east time of the United States. All are invited!
