The legendary Peruvian group Los Mirlos will return to New York to star in a celebration full of music, culture and national pride on the occasion of Peru’s Independence. The group, recognized worldwide as pioneers of psychedelic Amazonian cumbia, will meet again with the Peruvian community and its followers next Sunday, July 26, 2026 in Brooklyn.
The event, produced by Rockass Online Music, will bring together Peruvians and Latin American music lovers in a special night that will pay tribute to one of the most important dates on the Peruvian calendar. The celebration will take place at Xanadu Roller Arts, where Los Mirlos will offer an extended show with the classics that have marked more than five decades of history.
The group’s return to the city comes at a notable moment in its international career. After their acclaimed performances on stages such as Coachella and their memorable concert at Lincoln Center, Los Mirlos continue to bring the sound of the Peruvian Amazon to new generations and audiences around the world.
Recently, the band presented their new album, “The World Meets Los Mirlos”, a collaborative project that brings together international artists from different genres and generations. The production celebrates the group’s history and combines the essence of their psychedelic Amazonian cumbia with new influences, demonstrating the validity of a sound that was born in Peru and conquered global stages.
With more than 50 years of career, Los Mirlos have become one of the greatest cultural ambassadors of Peru. Their hypnotic guitar melodies, tropical rhythms and Amazonian roots have transformed the group into one of the most influential bands in Latin American tropical music.
