Sail4th 250 brings the biggest maritime show to NYC
July 3–8, 2026
New York will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with Sail4th 250, an unprecedented event that will bring together more than 80 historic vessels and 150 aircraft in a grand maritime, aerial and cultural celebration along the city’s harbor.
The public will be able to enjoy sailboat parades on July 3 and 4, plus free admission with timed tickets to board international tall ships from July 5 to 7 in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island. There will also be free viewing areas on the waterfront and live streaming of the event nationwide.
The program includes the Great Parade of Sailboats on the East River and the Hudson, the International Naval Review with ships from 22 countries, a flyover of more than 150 aircraft led by the Blue Angels and closing with the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks.
Thalia Spanish Theater presents “The Presence of Absence: A Cuban Nocturne” in Queens

The Thalia Spanish Theatre, in collaboration with the Cuban Cultural Center of New York, presents the world premiere of “The Presence of Absence: A Cuban Nocturne (Nocturno Cubano)”, by playwright Andrea O’Reilly Herrera, under the direction of Nicole Quintana.
The work explores memory and identity through the history of several generations of Cuban women. Set between pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Cuba, it follows Margarita, an exile in the United States who struggles to reconcile her divided identity, her traumatic past, and her cultural heritage in front of her daughter. As past and present collide, the piece reflects on silence, survival, forgiveness and healing within the family unit.
The cast includes Nydia Castillo, Alicia Castro, Nicholas Caycedo, Sandor Juan, Madelin Marchant, Zaire Martínez, Yazmery Milian, Alessandra Ruiz and Kristen Tarragó. The production is an Equity Showcase Production.

NYC expands “Soccer Streets” with more watch parties for the 2026 World Cup

New York celebrates the 2026 World Cup fever with the expansion of “Soccer Streets”, an initiative by Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the NYC DOT that will transform squares and streets into public spaces for broadcasting matches and community celebration in the five boroughs.
Five new watch parties were announced in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, joining more than 100 free events across the city. Each point will combine football on a giant screen with live music, cultural programming and activities for neighbors and families.
New locations include Osborn Plaza in Brooklyn, Johnny Hartman Plaza in Manhattan, Kensington Plaza in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge Arches Plaza in Manhattan and Corona Plaza in Queens, with events including pregame musical performances and community activities organized by local groups.
