Experimental art returns to the streets of Brooklyn with The Six Foot Platform
SEP 6 – Oct 18
12 pm at 6 pm
The most iconic Brooklyn block will become an experimental art scenario this fall with the return of The Six Foot Platform, a community project that transforms Washington Street into a living space of creativity and performance.
From September 6 to October 18, every Saturday from 12 pm to 6 pm, seven artists will present immersive experiences on a platform of just six square feet, in a program organized by Team Dumbo in collaboration with the Brooklyn Arts Council.
The public can enjoy proposals ranging from participatory facilities and dance performances to Tarot with tree bark, “readings of the future” with giant games, sensory experiences, collective quilting and even a live Jam of Tap.
“The Six Foot Platform was born as a creative response during the pandemic, and today is a space coveted by artists and a favorite of the community,” said Alexandria Sica, president of the Dumbo Business Improvement District.
