“Fuenteovejuna”: the power of a united people

Spanish repertoire presents a vibrant and current version of Fuenteovejuna, the famous work of Lope de Vega based on real events that occurred in 1476. In Spanish with subtitles in English, this two -hour function (with intermediate) revives the rebellion of a people against the abuse of power and invites us to reflect on collective justice. The functions will include talks with students, cast and experts such as Professor Víctor Sierra Matute and the director Bibiana Torres. Directed by Martín Santangelo and with the masterful interpretation of Soledad Barrio, the work offers a deep look on dreams, the passage of time and the transforming force of experience.

Five companies, one heart: Baand Together Dance Festival returns

The Baand Together Dance Festival celebrates its fifth anniversary gathering five of the most emblematic companies in New York – Hispanic Ballet, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet and Dance Theater of Harlem – in a unique scenario that promises magic, diversity and excellence. The programming presents key works of the repertoire, carefully selected by its artistic directors. In addition, every afternoon there will be free dance workshops for all ages in the hall of David Geffen Hall, where art is lived and learned dancing. The functions will be at the David H.
