India celebrates Mother’s Day with an unforgettable concert at Bronx

This Mother’s Day, the Bronx dresses up with the return of one of his most illustrious daughters: India, the “Princess of Salsa”, who will perform on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 8 pm at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, accompanied by the talented singer Luis Damón. The event promises an electrifying night of Latin music, emotion and celebration dedicated to all mothers.

Recognized as one of the most powerful and influential voices of salsa, India will bring on stage a selection of its most beloved successes, including “Living ours”, “that man” and “customs”, in an evening designed to honor the queens of the home. With a musical trajectory that covers more than three decades and multiple awards, including a Latin Grammy for the best salsa album, India remains an indisputable icon of Latin music.

An artist who returns to its roots

Born as Linda Viera Caballero in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, India moved to South Bronx from an early age, where her grandmother gave her the nickname that would accompany her forever. His career began in the world of dance music during the 80s, but it was in 1992, with the album he arrived by India Vía Eddie Palmieri, where he marked his great entrance to the world of salsa.

Her album says I am (1994), which included her unforgettable duo with Marc Anthony, catapulted her to international fame and became a classic of the genre. Since then, India has reaped an impressive list of successes such as “I got tired of being the other”, “Sedúceme”, “stupid” and “victims both”, the latter breaking her own record as the female artist with more numbers one in the Billboard Tropical Songs list.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with legends such as Tito Puente, Juan Gabriel, Oscar D’Eón, Celia Cruz and Victor Manuelle, consolidating their status as one of the great feminine voices of salsa.

Luis Damón opens the night with a tropical flavor

The show will feature Luis Damón’s special participation, a singer who broke into the Latin scene with his album only in 1996 and was nominated for the Lo Tu award as our tropical artist revelation of the year. His popular duo with Olga Tañón, “to be with you,” placed it in Billboard’s lists and led him to join the group are by 4, with whom he made national and international tours.
