HIA-LI, administrator of the Long Island Innovation Park in Hauppaup (Li-PH), announced the introduction of Brentwoodgo, an innovative transport service in electric vehicles on request.
It will provide economic and ecological transport for employees, workers and visitors inside and around the LI-PH, as well as in the Brentwood community, including the Brentwood Lirr station, which marks a significant step towards sustainable mobility solutions in one of the largest industrial parks in the country.
Brentwoodgo, operated by Circuit, a solution of electrical microtransport founded in 2011, aims to curb congestion, reduce emissions and reduce carbon footprint, and improve transportation accessibility.
The service, which will initially be free for a limited introductory period and will then be available at a fixed rate of only $ 2.50, will operate 6 electric silk and 1 accessible truck for wheelchairs.
Circuit vehicles will be charged and parking at a dedicated base station housed by Custom Computer Specialists (CCS) in the LI-PH. As the program expands, additional electric trucks will be added to the fleet.
To use the service, passengers should only download the application RIDE CIRCU From Google Play or App Store, request a trip by selecting its collection location and enjoy a fast, friendly and ecological trip.
Brentwoodo, who operates from Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 6 pm, will provide service to employees and visitors who make errands, attend appointments and more within the Long Island Innovation Park in Hauppage (LI-PH) and the surrounding area.
The press and the public are invited to a formal inauguration ceremony of Brentwoodgo on Tuesday, October 15, at 11 am, in the CCS parking lot (Custom Computer Specialists Headquarters), located in 70 Suffolk Court, Hauppauge, NY 11788, where new electric vehicle load stations have been installed to support this ecological initiative.
The event will have comments from local leaders and interested parties, including representatives of HIA-LI, Circuit, PSEG Long Island and Custom Computer Specialists.
“This is a radical change for Brentwood’s families and workers,” said Suffolk County legislator Sam González. “By offering this service, we are giving the working members of our community, many of whom do not have a reliable transport, a more accessible, affordable and ecological form of arriving and returning from their work in the Long Island Innovation Park in Hauppauge.”
The launch of Brentwoodgo is the direct result of a key recommendation of the 2019 opportunities analysis, “regional growth and competitiveness strategies”, developed by James Lima Planning + Development and the Regional Plan Association. This analysis highlighted the need to improve internal and external connections with LI-PH offering viable transport options for the park’s workforce.
As a winner in the Electric Mobility Challenge category of the New York Clean Transport Awards of $ 85 million, administered by the New York State Research and Development Authority, Circuit received a $ 7 million prize financed by the Long Island energy authority to launch its Rockaway Rides and Brentwoodo programs.
