Hate crimes detectives are looking for two men who shouted insults against immigration to a man before assaulting him in Manhattan earlier this month.
The NYPD spread photos and a video of the suspects sought by the attack about 177 East Houston St. on Monday, at the height of Allen Street, at the Lower East Side, around 3:15 am on September 8.
Police sources said that the two suspects approached the victim, a 26 -year -old man, and did what the NYPD described as “anti -immigrant comments indicative of prejudice” based on what they believed was his nationality.
The words became violence, police sources said, when the two men physically attacked the victim, hitting him in the body and cutting an arm with a sharp object.
After the attack, agents reported, the aggressors fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The incident was reported to the 7th seal, which subsequently classified it as a hate crime and transferred the case to the hate crime unit for additional investigation. The September 8 attack occurred in the midst of a national offensive against immigration by the Trump administration, which has seen Masked ICE agents stop people in court, workplaces and other sites throughout the country.
Meanwhile, the victim was transferred to Bellevue Hospital, where she was in stable condition.
Until September 28, the 7th seal had reported eight hate crimes so far this year, compared to 13 reported in the same period last year.
Police described one of the attackers as a clear complex man and thin beast, between 25 and 30 years old, of approximately 5 feet 8 inches of stature, with short brown hair, brown eyes and chestnut beard. It was last seen with a white picture shirt on a white shirt, khaki pants and white shoes.
