Laurel Park Elementary School, located in Brentwood, recently received a significant $2,500 TangerKids grant to support the school’s Thrift Store and the school building’s community outreach efforts.
The grant was obtained by school social worker Jesica Velásquez, who requested help to boost the “Thrift Shop” and turn it into a resource for students and families struggling to cover basic needs, such as clothing and shoes.
With additional funding from Tanger Outlets in Deer Park, Laurel Park School seeks to meet the growing demand for clothing, footwear, hygiene products and other essential items for the school community.
