The Hispanoamericana Foundation will be selling the popular Peruvian/Colombian Chocolatada, which consists of a glass of hot chocolate with a slice of Panetón (sweet bread) or a piece of bread, with the aim of supporting the academic progress of Hispanic youth. The launch of fundraising seeks to finance scholarships in 2026 aimed at outstanding students from the Hispanic community.

Fundación Hispanoamericana, INC’s mission is to promote and nurture the academic success, educational magnificence, and intellectual progress of Hispanic students.

The Foundation reiterated its invitation to residents, merchants and local organizations to join this solidarity cause. The funds raised will be allocated entirely to the scholarship program that, year after year, benefits students with exceptional performance.

«As part of its upcoming initiatives, the foundation will carry out a series of community chocolates, the activity takes place on Sunday, December 7 at the Gala Foods Supermarket, located at 120 North Main St., Freeport, NY and on Sunday, December 14 at Gala Foods, at 725 Commack Rd., Brentwood, NY. These activities, from 10 am to 3 pm, seek to promote community unity while promoting the academic progress of youth,” explained Vicky Díaz, founder of said organization.

«The chocolate will cost $10 dollars and includes, in addition to your hot drink with your panettone or bread, participating in the raffle for 2 televisions and many other prizes; The service will be offered on the go or by hand, through which we make it easy for people to stop by the Fundación Hispanoamericana stand at the entrance of the Gala Foods supermarkets and we will give them their hot chocolate in the comfort of their car, just as we are offering them,” Mrs. Díaz tells us, explaining the reasons for going to taste this delicious chocolate.

“The activity has been called “Peruvian/Colombian Chocolate” and on this occasion El Salvador and Honduras join together, in the case of the Peruvian chocolate it is authentic since it comes from the city of Balsas, which is part of the Ceja de Selva in the Peruvian Amazon, and is donated by SUMAQ Peruvian Food Festival,” Díaz concluded.
