The Bolivian national team beat Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 in their last preparation match for the intercontinental World Cup playoff that they will play with Suriname on March 26 in the city of Monterrey, Mexico.
The “Green” goals at the Ramón ‘Tahuichi’ Aguilera stadium, in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, were scored by captain Luis Haquín in the 23rd minute, the Paraguayan-Bolivian Juan Godoy in the 37th, and Fernando Nava put the finishing touch in the 51st minute.
The local squad imposed its condition with an intense game from the first minutes, with Robson Matheus as the team’s setter, supported by the overflows of Carlos Melgar on the right and Fernando Nava on the opposite wing.
Godoy, Nava and Melgar each had the option to open the account, but goalkeeper Jarabi Price was essential for Bolivia not to celebrate from the beginning.
dynamic attack
Bolivia’s attacks were based on quick play towards the wings and the arrival of three or more players in the area. This is how defender Haquín scored a goal in the 22nd minute after a cross into the six-yard box.
In the 37th minute the formula was the same, since Godoy simply pushed the ball under the goal after a prepared play that originated from a foul in the middle of the field.
The Caribbeans led by Derek King tried to attack, but their attacks found a well-organized “Green” defense.

Bolivia’s first attack in the second half culminated with a goal from Nava after an assist from Godoy.
After the third conquest, Bolivia lowered its revolutions and its coach, Oscar Villegas, made changes in all lines, some with the inclusion of young footballers who wore the “Green” for the first time.
«I think the important thing is that the group won, the group gained confidence. It is important to say goodbye to our people with a victory,” said the captain of the Bolivian squad, Luis Haquín, who opened the route to victory at the Ramón ‘Tahuichi’ Aguilera stadium against the Caribbean, in the last preparation game before participating in the FIFA playoffs.
«The virtue of this group is that it dreams and is convinced of what it wants. The most important thing is that we are all united and that our main objective, I am sure, will be met, and we have one of the keys, which is the group,” mentioned the defender. The captain of the “Green” said that, “if necessary,” the players will shed “blood” in the next qualifying match.
On Thursday, March 26, the Bolivian team will play the FIFA World Cup playoff against the Suriname team in the Mexican city of Monterrey and the winner of that match will have to face the Iraq team five days later, in a match that will define the pass to the next World Cup that will take place this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
